Quê hương nỗi nhớ
HÀ LY MẠC
Đêm qua trong mộng tôi cười
Sáng nay thức dậy lại ngồi rưng rưng
Lạ lùng chưa, lệ ứa dòng
Giọt thương tôi nuốt, giọt hồng tuôn ra
Đất người xót nỗi quê cha
Ô hay! Trời cũng nhạt nhòa như tôi
Lâm râm từng hạt mưa rơi
Hàng cây đứng lặng trên đồi ngẩn ngơ
Niềm thương nỗi nhớ đong đưa
Tình quê hương đó, bao giờ mới nguôi
Việt Nam ơi! Núi, sông, trời
Lũy tre, đồng ruộng, đâu rồi nước non?
Phải chi thấy lại mảnh vườn
Dang tay ôm lấy cội nguồn mà hôn
Mấy mươi năm, một nỗi buồn
Lê thân viễn xứ, héo mòn ruột gan
Tình thâm đôi ngả quan san
Ngoài vời vợi nhớ, trong vàng vọt trông
Xa núm ruột, quặn thắt lòng
Mồ cha, mả mẹ, lạc vòng tay ôm
Trời chiều rũ bóng hoàng hôn
Quê hương nỗi nhớ, giọt buồn mang mang...

My feeling of
the homeland remembrance
English version by NGUYEN HUU LY
Last night, I laughed in my dream
Waking up this morning, I resume having tears welling up in my seating
How strange-looking is! Flows of tears suffused from my eyes
I suppress my longed-for love, teardrops are shedding out in profusion
Living in a foreign land, my heart bleeds for the father-land
Well, Heaven has become stale also like myself!
Every drop of rain drizzles continually
Rows of trees stand still on the stupefied hill
Compassion and remembrance feelings make shifts
With that homeland love, and when it's ever be subsided?
Oh, Vietnam! Mountains, rivers, and skies
Bamboo belts, fields, and where is the homeland stand, then?
If I had seen the plot of my garden again
I would open wide my arms to greet and kiss its origins!
For several decades, only a same fit of melancholy
Dragging away my fate in a remote foreign land, grieves have withered my heart
The deep-felt sentiments between the two-way cross roads with sallow longings-for inside my mind
Far-away from the abdominal navel, my heart suffered writhing pain
Father's tombs, mother's grave were out-of the arm embrace
The eventide hung down the crepuscular shadow
My feeling of the homeland remembrance, drops of sadness were vaguely outpouring…
