HUẾ BAO GIỜ TA TRỞ LẠI
Trúc Lang
Huế mình ơi! Bao giờ ta trở lại
Còn đó xưa giọt nước quá ân tình
Những chiều mơ nắng xuống đẹp lung linh
Man mác nhớ những âm thanh còn đọng
Nét vẻ đẹp long lanh như làn sóng
Và đôi môi long lanh qua nét cọ

When I'll Be Back Again In Hue?
Oh, my dear Hue! When I'll be back again there?
The former ferry-boat with its water drops full of deep affection
The eventides in dream of glistening declining nice sunshine
Vaguely recalled a great deal of sounds still accumulated
That always reminded me of over-mature moonlit nights
The flying golden leaves fell in the in most recesses of the heart
And a budding love was hastily following the flow
A pair of bluish green eyes and a heart penetrated into sweet dreams!
Pretty features looked as sparkling as waves on waters
Since years and months of your shoulder-length velvety hair
Constantly sad at heart at that dreamy age have not faded away yet
According to the water shadow, time passed in wildness
The flaps of white dress, the old footprints were perpetually remained
On the drawing lines of my painting
The physical beings, the stony statues in the distance
And flickering hills and streams through the paint-brush strokes
Oh, at what was Quang Te, or Tay Thien full of patches?
I always observed the skies pristine color!
There was the echo at night of the wooden tocsin while saying prayers "namo" to glory to Buddha
From Pagoda Tu Hieu or from the graveyard corner on the pine hill
Then, my eyes stopped eyeing for all times there
Your image appeared glitteringly on several mount peaks
I always bore lovesickness and compassion on the lips
As a wanderer who was finding out a gateway!
Oh, my dear Hue! When may I allow to speak about
A love story from that time immemorial?
Beside you in melancholy, I stood motionless in the rain
In staring at the former inseparable lover-couple's raindrops not held off yet!
