Gởi hồn theo sách

Gởi hồn theo sách về Non Nước
Nước mấy ngàn năm nước gấm hoa
Nước thơm trang sử thơm tình đất
Nước vẫn ngàn năm nước Việt ta
Nước có tích xưa một trăm trứng
Cha là rồng mẹ vốn là tiên
Mẹ đi lên núi cha về biển
Con đã trăm con rẽ trăm miền
Nước có con thuyền trôi ngược sóng
Có người tuốt kiếm dưới trăng ca
Câu thơ hào khí thơ hùng tráng
"Thế sự du du nại lão hà" (*)
Nước có non cao chín ngọn Hồng
Sông Hương Núi Ngự mấy hưng vong
Phù sa bãi lượn Đồng Nai rợp
Bóng rặng dừa xanh ngát Cửu Long
Nước có Vua Bà xưa cưỡi voi
Có cô công chúa lấy dân chài
Có văn chương mở ngàn pho sách
Có Bạch Đằng giang khiếp vía ai
Nước xưa có Trạng ngồi ghi chép
Sấm truyền nghiêm trọng xuống lòng dân
Một đời gối chiếc hai dòng lệ
Thù ghét can qua, giận lũ cuồng
Nước có sao đông có sao tây
Nước có kỳ hoa dị thảo đầy
Nhưng nước ngàn năm còn nước khổ
Lịch sử cuồng trong trận gió quay!
Gởi hồn theo sách về Non Nước
Cát bụi thân mình lại xót xa
Ôi! hỡi hồn thiêng sông núi hỡi
Ngày nao ta trở lại quê nhà?

Drifting the soul
after the book
English version by the author
Drifting the soul after the book back to the homeland
The country of thousands of years with brodery and flowers
Sweet with each page of history and earth-love
After thousands of years, still our Vietnam remains
With an ancient legend of one hundred eggs
The father Dragon, the mother Fairy
Mother to the mountain, father back to the sea
Hundred of children scattered to hundred regions
country with a boat against the wave-stream
With a valiant man bearing the sword in moon-light,
Singing, A poem of heroic intrepidity
"Drifting and floating with the fluctuations of times..."
Country with high mountains of nine mounts
Perfume River and Royal Mount-history witnesses of ups and downs
Rich alluvium in the riversides of Dong Nai
Cool shades of green coconut trees spreading over Mekong sides.
Country with the Lady-king on the elephants
A princess getting married to a fisherman
A literature of thousand thousand of books
The victory at Bach Dang River, frightening the invaders
Country with masters in the Feudal Time, writing down
Sending the oracles to the people
Through the whole life on an alone cushion, two eyes streaming with tears
Hating the war and the crazy tyrants...
The country with East and West stars
Filled with various fauna and flora
However through thousands of years, still miserable
The history twisted around in the round-about typhoons!
Drifting the soul after book back to native land
Feeling pitiful of ourselves as dust and sand
Oh, the sacred soul of mountains and rivers!
Certainly one-day-return to the homeland will be sooner?
