BỨC THƯ ĐẦU XUÂN
TẠ KÝ
Tết đến hai ngày rồi mẹ nhỉ
Đầu xuân con biết mẹ đang buồn
Ai vui chi được đời sương gió
Sông chứa sầu đau, núi đựng hồn
Ra đi từ dạo mùa cam chín
Đã mấy mùa cam con chửa về
Tóc mẹ hoa râm nay bạc trắng
Vô tình trước ngõ trắng hoa lê
Có những đêm buồn con phát khóc
Nhớ xưa Tết đến dậy mai vàng
Tha hương thân bé còn lăn lóc
Mỗi độ xuân về mỗi dở dang
Quê nhà hoang vắng ra sao mẹ?
Đây phấn son bay ngập phố phường
Con vẫn trong chờ sầu cả mặt
Ngày nào thiên hạ biết yêu thương?
Con viết bức thư này giữa lúc
Súng xa vang động cành mai vàng
Nhà trọ cô đơn, nghe gió giục
Bồ câu giỡn nắng mới bay ngang
Ít bữa tàn mai rơi trước ngõ
Nhặt giùm dăm cánh ép cho con
Mẹ ơi đợi lúc trời thôi gió
Con sẽ quay về để mẹ hôn

A LETTER WRITTEN AT THE BEGINNING OF SPRING
Dear mom! The Tet festival was already coming two days ago
I knew that Mom was feeling sad at the beginning of Spring
Nobody couldn't enjoy himself the life's dewy and windy hardships
Rivers contained sufferings, mountains held on tantrums
I have left since the ripening orange harvest
For many orange season I hadn't come back yet
Mom's pepper and salt hair has turned white now
Indifferently, the front gateway was whitening by pear flowers
There were many gloomy nights, I started shedding tears
Reminiscing about the past Tet arrivals that toned up yellow apricot flowers
Wandering in strange land, the little child rolled about uncared-for life
In every Spring coming, everything became more unachieved
How deserted was our homeland, dear mom?
Right here, streets and guilds were flying aboundingly in lipsticks and face-powder!
But I always awaited too long beyond eyeshot
One day, when the people at large would know how to love themselves!
I was writing this letter in the very middle moment
When the distant gunshot echo resounded and stirred yellow apricot branches
The solitary inn seemed to hear the wind urging
Dove romped around the sunshine that they just hovered through
On a few days ' time, whent the wilting apricot flowerd will drop down in front gateway
Please pick up several petals and press them for me
On, Mom! I'll wait for the windy weather would come a calm
I'll return back home for you heavy petting!
