"Bỏ bao chiến hữu long đong
“Bỏ hình chữ S đường cong quê mình
"À ơi!..."
Lời ru của Mẹ đầy tình
Đèn khuya lay bóng lung linh, nhớ Người
Bức tranh sông núi tuyệt vời
Việt Nam ta đó, rạng ngời tương lai...

Rivers' and
Mountains' Panorama
English version by LY NGUYEN
Side by side stand rivers and mountains forever
Could it be that mountains want to console rivers
On that rivers would like to be close to mountains
So as to be less lonely
Could it be that rivers worry about the late afternoon sunshine
Protected by high mountains, might cover their rustling
At the native land, while mountains feel unsteady
Rivers are washing out quietly our homeland's sufferings
Who does know that rivers and mountains are charming?
Rivers, mountains, and us are still left besides together!
Long rivers, wide heaven, and high mountains
The late enhancing moonlight abounds in their rustic-loved feelings
Appearing in and out, the vague melancholy in its return
By a windy whistling, mountains, have engaged heavily an oath making to rivers' faith!
Immensely spread rivers and mountains
At the naughty weather amidst anebb-and-flow cycle
The late moon reminds us of gray-haired undulations
And loves rivers and mountains which expose likely to every night
Pine-cheering bears a resemblance to the sweet Mother's voice
Her lullaby echoes even forests' and mountains' sacred souls
"Ah, eh...!
"The boat is just leaving the harbor and stops
"Someone who is just departing from his country and remains unfulfilled
"To blame him, for his feelings as faded as the limewater
"Revenges for families, debs for the nation are given up along the current
"So many miserable comrades-in-arms
"As well as the curved homeland's shape of the letter S are full-forgotten
"Ah, eh...!"
Mom's lullaby is full of sentiments
The shaking shadow from a midnight lamplight tenderly recalls her
How wonderful the rivers' and mountains' panorama is!
Of Vietnam, our country, with its resplendent future...
